Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Greetings! Happy Friday! It was really nice to have a full week of school with no disruptions due to weather. Let's hope we can continue that next week!

Today marked the end of Read Across America Week. To celebrate the students wore hats in school, which they loved. Thank you to all who participated in the various activities this week. We'll do it again next year!

We began our day by going to Mass. Today we sat with our Faith Families at Mass. We also welcomed our family members to sit with us. Today, Msgr. Lockard reminded us that God has given us many friends including Jesus.

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, we read The Sneetches in Language Arts class. We then wrote about what makes us special. We added that to a craft.

In Math class we identified 2 more, 3 more, 2 less, and 3 less than a number. We also practiced idenitfying the greater and least number in a set as well as putting numbers in order from least to greatest and greatest to least.

Science class was loads of fun today. We began talking about our five senses. What a better way to do that than to make a Mr. Potato Head. After doing that, we labeled the parts that help us see, hear, taste, touch, and smell. We will continue our discussion of the five senses next week. Here is a picture of a Mr. Potato Head:

Finally it was time for Art class. Today we made a rainbow coming out of a pot of gold. The students cut pieces of paper to create the rainbow. After their rainbow was finished, they added gold coins to their pot. I added some glitter to the coins after school. I'll post pictures of them on Monday once everything has dried.

Have a wonderful weekend!
