Fox in Socks Day!

Greetings! Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is enjoying their week! I just loved seeing all of the crazy socks today!

We began our day with Religion class. Today we wrapped up our chapter on the parish. We reviewed how we worship together with our parish, how the pastor leads the parish, and how a parish helps many people.

We began a new week of learning in Language Arts. We learned our five new oral vocabulary words (flutter, different, imitate, protect, and resemble). Next we learned how to blend and read long i words spelled with i, igh, ie, or y. After that we learned our new sight words and vocabulary words. Following that we put or new skills to the test as we read Creep Low, Fly High, a fantasy story about bugs. We ended class by learning when to use see and saw in sentences.

For Gym class today we practiced our tossing skills. The students used a racket to toss a bean bag into a hula hoop. We called this game "Hurl the Pancake".

In Math class today we worked with place value. The students used base ten blocks to show how many tens and ones make up a number. We then transitioned to paper and pencil. The students had no problems with this!

We ended our day with a pizza party. Thank you to all of the parents how attended the February Home and School Meeting. Because of that, we won the pizza party. The students really enjoyed the slices of pizza and drinks provided!

Just a reminder that tomorrow we have Mass. It is also Hat Day. Students can wear a hat following Mass. Have a great night!
