Waiting for a Story!

Greetings! Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a great week.

In Religion class today we talked about the importance of forgiving others. We talked about how Jesus led by example as he forgave those as he was dying on the cross. We also talked about how it is not easy to always forgive others. When we find ourselves having trouble forgiving, we need to turn to Jesus and ask for his help.

In Language Arts class today, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words, read words with the vowel variant oo and words with suffixes. We also practiced our sight words and vocabulary words. Then we switched our focus to fluency and comprehension. We partner read a story in our decodeable reader. Then, we read Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type. The students waited all week to read this story and were not disappointed. I loved hearing them read. Their fluency skills have grown so much this school year. After reading the story we completed pages in our close reading companion. We ended our morning by practicing using pronouns in sentences.

In Math class today we practiced telling time to the half hour. The students wrote the time showed on clocks and then used their clocks to show various times. They sure do love using the clocks.

In Spanish class today we reviewed the words for the different foods we learned. The students were given pictures of the foods. I would then say a food in Spanish and they would hold up the picture for that food.

We ended our day with a special writing project. Today, we imagined that we were looking in the sky and saw giant puffy clouds. The students imagined what that cloud looked like. Then using cotton balls, they created their imagination. I'll post pictures of them tomorrow.

Have a great night!
