The End of November!

 Greetings! It is hard to believe that today was the last day in November! This month went right by us. 

In Religion class today, we watched and read the story of baby Moses being left by his mother in a basket. We talked about how God had a special plan for Moses at such a young age. We also talked about how Moses is our first prophet. 

In Language Arts class, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words. We also practiced reading reading long a words and our sight words. In addition, we learned how to spell and read words with the contraction for not. To help us build our fluency and comprehension skills, we partner read a story from our decodable reader booklets. We also read On My Way to School. After reading this story, we talked about and illustrated the characters, setting, and events. 

This afternoon in Language Arts, we practiced using verbs in sentences. We also generated a list of action verbs associated with a superhero. We wrote 6 words around a superhero. We will be designing our superhero tomorrow. 

In Math class today, we practiced identifying the greatest and least number in a set. We also talked about the > and < symbols. We talked about how they look like an alligator's mouth and how an alligator will always have its mouth open to the bigger number. 

I'm sure the children told you that our classroom elf arrived yesterday, Everyday, we will be keeping a journal and writing about where Jingles is at in our classroom!
