Greetings! The children came in excited to tell me that Phil saw his shadow this morning meaning we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Some are happy, and some are not.
In Religion class today, we wrapped up our chapter on Jesus beginning his public ministry. We reviewed how he went from town to town telling people about God's love and how he blessed the children.
In Language Arts class, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words, practiced reading long e words, and practiced reading and defining words with the prefixes un-, re-, and pre-. We also worked on our fluency skills as we partner read a story from our decodable reader booklets.
In Math class today, we practiced solving number patterns. We again used our number chart to 40 to help us. By crossing off the given numbers, we were able to see the pattern and thus find the missing numbers in it.
Our Social Studies class today was devoted to Groundhog's Day. We learned all about groundhogs and wrote facts about them. We are in the process of adding our writing to a craft. We will finish that tomorrow.
Have a great night!
