The Blessed Trinity

Greetings on this Thursday night! I hope everyone was able to dodge the raindrops this morning and enjoy the warmer weather this afternoon.

In Religion class today we talked about the Blessed Trinity. We learned that there are Three Persons in one God. The Three Persons are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that they are joined together by love. To help us understand this, we made a triangle ornament with the name of one of the Persons on each side. Here is how they turned out:

Today was a bit of a review for us in Language Arts. We reviewed our oral vocabulary words, short i words, and words with final double consonants. As we reviewed our phonics skills, we made a pig sitting in mud. In the mud we wrote short i words. Here is one example:

Next we reviewed our sight words by rereading the word wall. After that we worked on our fluency and comprehension skills. We partner read a story in our decodable readers; we also partner read Go, Pip! Then we read a nonfiction piece about the country and the city. After reading that we completed pages in our close reading companion. We finished the morning by reviewing word order. We practiced unscrambling sentences.

For Gym class today we went down to the gym. The students were quite excited to visit the gym. Today we played "Alligator, Alligator".

In Math class today we continued working on counting on to find answers to addition facts. We practiced completing number bonds and writing number sentences. We will continue to practice this for a few more days.

Before we knew it, it was time to go home. Tomorrow is going to be a crazy end to the week. We have Mass, 2 special programs, Library, Art, and of course, our Spelling test. See you tomorrow night!
