Today was quite a day. It was a busy day for us in first grade despite of the early dismissal. We were able to get a Math lesson in today. We identified how many more on a bar graph. We first acted out stories by having various numbers of boys and girls line up and then identifying how many more were in line. Next, we used linking cubes to do the same thing. Finally, we made a bar graph of the number of children in our families.
We did take a break from Math to attend Mass for Ash Wednesday. We listened to Msgr. Lockard tell us not to boast when we are praying, fasting, and almsgiving this Lent. We were quite excited to receive ashes today. I loved their excitement as we got our ashes.
