Happy Catholic School's Week!

Greetings and welcome to Catholic School's Week 2020! All this week we will be celebrating our school and what makes it such a great place to learn, serve, lead, and succeed.

Today, we held a special prayer service of thanksgiving for those who have answered the call to religious life. We thanked them for answering God's call and prayed for me people to be open to the call of God. A special thanks goes out to Fr. Brian for all that he does for us.

In Language Arts today, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words. We also practiced reading long a words spelled ai or ay. In addition we practiced putting words into ABC order. After that we reviewed our sight words and vocabulary words before switching focus to reading. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets. Then we read How Bat Got Its Wings, a folktale explaining when bat got wings. Following that we completed pages in our close reading companion to build our comprehension skills.

This afternoon in Language Arts, we practiced writing contractions and wrote in our journals.

This week in Penmanship we will be practicing B and b.

In Spanish class today we reviewed the names for parts of the face. We drew a face and then labeled the parts in Spanish.

In Math class today we identified the measurements of objects by understanding that something stood for one unit. It took us a little bit to get the counting down with the little squares, but once we did, we were fine.

Tomorrow is Clash Day for the students. They may wear jeans and sneakers and are encouraged to wear mismatched clothes. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Have a great night!
