Outside Fun in January!

Greetings on this absolutely beautiful winter day! It sure did not feel like January outside today. It felt like an early spring day. We are so blessed!

In Religion class today we talked about how the church began on Pentecost. We also talked about how the church is the people who believe and follow Jesus.

In Language Arts class, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words. We also practiced read oo and u words and also practiced spelling and reading words with inflected endings when the final letter is doubled. After that we reviewed our sight words. Then our focused switched to fluency. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets. We also read From Cows to You, a nonfiction story about how milk is transported.

This afternoon in Language Arts, we wrote the steps in how milk goes from cows to stores. We practiced writing contractions for the word not. We also finished our writing project from Monday by writing about what we would like to fall from the sky like snowflakes.

For Gym today, we headed outside to the sunshine. It was just too nice to be indoors. Who would have thought that we could have outside gym in January?

In Math class today we used our critical thinking skills to solve problems. I was just amazed at how the students could verbalize how the got their answers.

Have a great night!
