The First Snow!

Greetings! Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed our four day weekend. The students were so excited about the snow today. Many could not wait to go home to go sled riding, throw snowballs, and build a snowman. I loved their excitement today.

In Religion class, we talked about how the people waited for God to send Jesus. Today, we focused on how Noah waited for Jesus by being obedient to God. We enjoyed hearing the story of Noah's ark.

We continued our week of learning in Language Arts. We reviewed our oral vocabulary words and practiced reading words with the digraphs ch, tch, wh, and ph, words with the inflectional ending -es, and our sight words. To help build our fluency and comprehension, we partner read a story in our decodable readers and read a nonfiction piece about the cardinal directions. We completed pages in our close reading to help us practice using the directional words.

This afternoon in Language Arts, we practiced writing irregular plurals. We also wrote the steps in how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

In Math class today, we continued our fun with shapes. We spent time identifying all the different shapes we saw in the classroom.

Today, we began to practice for our Christmas singing performance. We learned how to process in and out. We are getting excited for the show!

Have a great night!
