Praying the Rosary

Greetings! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! The students were quite excited to tell me about PotatoFest this weekend.

In Religion class today, we learned how to pray the rosary. We colored a sheet showing when we pray each prayer. The students were then given rosaries. Today, we prayed the first decade of the Joyful Mysteries. We will continue to pray one decade a day during the month of October.

We began a new week of learning in Language Arts; this week we are reading about how our bodies move. We began by learning two new oral vocabulary words (exercise and physical). We then worked on asking and answering questions as we read a nonfiction story about how animals move. Next, we learned how to blend and read r-blend and s-blend words, words like frog and swim. Following that, we learned our new sight words for the week (jump, move, run, two). Finally, we read Move and Grin which helped us practice our new reading skills.

This afternoon in Language Arts, we practiced writing sentences with correct word order and punctuation.

We also began our Fire Safety Week lessons. Today, we talked about calling 911 in an emergency, staying away from things that are hot, and stop, drop, and roll.

In Math class today, we learned how to subtract by counting back. We used our number lines to help us do this.

Have a great night!
