Greetings! Happy Monday! I hope everyone dried out after the weekend rain. I actually sat in the rain to watch the Pirates beat the A's on Saturday at PNC Park. I just love my Pirates!
We began our week with Religion class. Today we talked about how the Mass is the church's greatest celebration. At Mass, we remember what Jesus said and did at the Last Supper.
We began Language Arts class by working in our literacy centers. Then we jumped back into our week of learning. We reviewed our oral vocabulary words. Then we practiced reading words with the vowels au, augh, aw, and al, and we practiced reading words with vowel team syllables. Following that we practiced our sight words and our vocabulary words. After all that practice, it was time to read. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets. We ended the morning by reading Meet Rosina, a nonfiction story about a girl who is deaf. This afternoon in Language Arts we completed pages in our close reading companion that went along with our story.
In Math class today we continued to practice adding two two-digit numbers without regrouping. Even with increasing the value of the numbers, the students are really good at this. Nothing can stop them!
Have a great night!
