Working Together in Math!

Greetings! Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine today. It was hard to come back in after recess. We sure did enjoy our time on the playground.

We began our day with Religion class. Today we talked the different things we do to participate in Mass. We said that we sing, pray, and listen during Mass.

We began Language Arts by working in our literacy centers. Following that, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words, read words with au, augh, aw, and al, read vowel team syllable words and identified the vowel team in each word, and read our sight words. Next, we partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets and the story Meet Rosina, which we read yesterday. We ended the morning by reading and discussing a poem.

This afternoon in class, we completed pages in our close reading companion that went along with the poem we read this morning. We also reviewed capitalizing months, days, and holidays when writing sentences.

In Math class today we practiced adding two two-digit numbers with regrouping. The students worked with a partner. They took turns spinning a spinner and adding it to a given number. I was quite impressed with how well they worked together.

We ended our day by finishing our Mother's Day gifts. The students were quite excited to bring them home today!

Enjoy your night!
