Reading and Math

Greetings, everyone! I hope everyone is still having a great week. We sure are in first grade!

We began our day by attending Adoration. It was nice spending some quiet time with Jesus before diving into new things.

After Music class, it was time for Language Arts. Today, we learned how to blend and read words that have the vowel sound as moon. The students did a great job learning this skill and are becoming such fluent readers. I am enjoying watching them grow and read. We also practiced our sight words today. This afternoon, we worked in our literacy centers. We also began our next writing project. Today we read a book about ladybugs and took notes on what we learned. We will be writing another informative paragraph this week.

During Math class today, we learned how to divide objects fairly. We used linking cubes to help us do this.

Just a reminder that there will be no gym class tomorrow because of Stations of the Cross.
