The Last Day of April

Happy Wednesday! It is so hard to believe that today was already Wednesday and the last day of April. Where has the time gone?

We had another great day of learning in first grade. In Religion class today, we talked about ways we participate in the Mass. Next week, we will take an in depth look at the Mass.

During Language Arts class today, we reviewed diphthongs ou and VCV words as well as our sight words. Then we read our story Mole and the Baby Bird. It is such a cute story to read. I hope you enjoy it tonight. We also talked about homophones.

In Math class today, we learned how to measure using centimeters. We practiced measuring linking cubes and line segments. We even practiced drawing line segments.

During Social Studies class we talked about rights and responsibilities of citizens with one of them being the right to vote. We even held a mock vote. With a score of 13-7, the students voted to play kickball next week in Gym class over "Alligator, Alligator".

Our day ended in gym class. Today we did yoga using the book ABC Yoga for Kids. They loved doing the various poses.

Have a great night!
