Happy Tuesday! Things are still going great in first grade!
Today in Religion class we continued talking about Lent. We reviewed the Lenten traditions of praying, fasting, and almsgiving. We then made a Lenten calendar that we could use at home during this season. Our goal is to grow closer to Jesus as we journey with him this Lent.
In Language Arts class, we reviewed long a: ai, ay and possessives. We also reviewed our sight words. We then listened to our story for the week. It is a bit of a longer one, so we will read it tomorrow. We ended class by writing the detailed sentences for our paragraph on the zoo.
During Math class today, we learned how to divide a square into fourths. We also practiced writing the fraction one fourth.
Just a reminder, tomorrow is gym class.
