Greetings! It seems that old man winter just doesn't want to leave us. I will admit that seeing the snow falling yesterday morning was a beautiful sight. However, I'm not sure so that those were my same thoughts as I was shoveling it.
We accomplished a lot on this delay day. In Language Arts, we finished the writing project we started on Tuesday. We wrote about all the things we love. Then, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words. Finally, we read our decodable reader and wrote about the main idea and key details in the story.
In Math class today we learned how to make bar graphs. We reviewed making a tally chart. Then, we used the data from the tally chart to make our bar graphs. They did a great job with this.
In Social Studies, we learned about George Washington. We listened to a story about him and then wrote facts about his life. We will add our writing to a craft tomorrow.
Today, we had special visitors in our classroom. Two ladies from Penn State came to talk to us about pests and pest controls. The students learned about all kinds of pests and ways to control them. They also learned about the importance of avoiding chemicals that can harm us. Each student came home with Mr. Yuck stickers to place on harmful products.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is Library day. Don't forget your book!
