Flowers in Bloom!

Happy Friday! It is hard to believe that another week has come and gone. Today was a great day in first grade. Both classes spent the day together. The students worked so hard all day and were quite excited to get to Art class.

We began our day with Mass. Today we heard the story of the fishes and the loaves. We were reminded that whenever we feel overwhelmed to turn to Jesus and He will help us.

In Language Arts class, we reviewed our sight words, suffixes -ly and -ful, and vowels in moon. We listened to our story one last time before taking our test on it. We also reviewed adjectives that compare by identifying them in sentences and using them in sentences.

During Math class today, we learned how to solve a problem by acting it out and drawing a picture. For Science class today, we learned that an object moves by either a push or pull. We gave several examples of pushes and pulls and then drew a picture to illustrate a push or pull.

Finally, it was time for Art class. Today we made flowers using cupcake liners. I just love how they turned out! I am so excited to hang them in the hall for all to see.

Have a great weekend! Just a reminder that our treasure show and tell is on Monday.
