On the Ninth of April

Greetings, everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. We had quite a busy day in first grade today.

In Religion class, we finished our talk about the Easter season. We reviewed the Easter story and created a Resurrection scene. The students did such a nice job on them. I forgot to take pictures; I'm sorry I don't have any to share with you :(.

During Language Arts class, we reviewed our sight words, long i: ie, igh, and silent letters kn and wr. We also partner read our story Peter's Chair to build our fluency. We then completed a story chart recalling the characters, setting, and plot of the story. Next we worked in literacy centers. This afternoon we practiced finding adjectives for how many in sentences. Finally, we wrote the detail sentences in our paragraph about koalas.

In Math class today we practiced the adding 9 facts. We completed our own set of adding 9 fact cards and used a wrap up to practice finding the answers.

Have a great night!
