A Funny Story!

Greetings! I hope everyone is having a good, fast week. It is hard to believe that it is already half way over.

Today in Religion class we talked about commandments, rules from God. We studied the Great Commandment today of loving God, others, and ourselves. We paid close attention to ways that we can love God. Tomorrow we will focus on the other two.

In Language Arts class today we reviewed our oral vocabulary words, short u words, contractions, and our sight words. We then put those skills to the test. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets. Next we read a hilarious fantasy story titled The Pigs, The Wolf, and the Mud. After that we completed pages in our close reading companion.

This afternoon we reviewed singular and plural nouns. We sorted words based on whether they named one or more than one person, place, or thing. Finally, we looked at the life cycle of a pumpkin by creating a model of it.

In Math class today we learned how to divide a shape in half or fourths. We practiced two ways for each and identified one half and one fourth (or one quarter) of a shape. The students really enjoyed doing this.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Gym day! Wear your sneakers!
