Batty for Learning!

Greetings! Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had an awesome day. It was so nice to see that sun shining today after beginning the day with frost.

In Religion class this morning we talked about how many people came and heard Jesus talk about God and God's love for us. We were amazed that at one point Jesus had to get into a boat so that everyone could hear him.

We began Language Arts class by reviewing the oral vocabulary words we learned yesterday and by learning three new words today. We then worked on making predictions as we read "The Three Little Pigs"; this was hard for us because we all remembered this story. Next we practiced reading short u words by using our letter tiles to spell and read words. After that we learned about contractions; this week we are focusing on contractions with is. We created a flipbook where we wrote the contraction and a sentence using that contraction. We ended our morning by reviewing our sight words.

This afternoon in Language Arts we focused on building our fluency and comprehension. We reread Cubs in a Hut and our decodable reader story. After each reading we discussed the characters, setting, and events in the story.

In Math class today we practiced sorting shapes. Each group of students was given a bag of shapes. They sorted the shapes by size, color, shape, number of sides, and number of corners. We are really enjoying working with shapes.

As promised here are pictures from Friday's Art class:

Just a reminder that book orders are due tomorrow! Enjoy your night!
