Back to Normal!

Greetings! Today was a much more normal day in first grade. We did enjoy the much calmer day.

In Religion class today we reviewed the story of Zacchaeus. We created a story chart and reviewed the meaning of the story. We promised to treat all people kindly just like Jesus did.

Language Arts was full of learning today. We began with a review. We reviewed our oral vocabulary words. Next we reviewed r blends and s blends by reading words and creating a bunch of grapes with r blend words on them. Then we reviewed possessives by using them in sentences. Finally we reviewed our sight words by reading the word wall.

Then it was time to practice. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets and the story Move It. After that we learned about the importance of diagrams and labels and answered questions regarding a diagram. Finally, we again sorted sentences; we are feeling much better about sentences.

We began Math class by reviewing fact families. Then we learned how to solve problems using related facts. We also used pictures to help us solve these problems.

We ended our day by attending Living Rosary. The Junior High students led us as we prayed the Luminous Mysteries.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is class picture retake day. Please remember to dress up tomorrow!
