Happy Wednesday! Today was a bit of a rainy and dreary day outside, but inside it was bright and happy. We are so excited to learn new things each day in first grade.
In Religion class today we talked about how Jesus helped many people. We read the story about Jesus curing the blind men. We will read more stories about Jesus helping others tomorrow.
Language Arts class was quite busy today. We began by reviewing our oral vocabulary words. Next we reviewed short e and inflected ending words; we also reviewed our sight words. To help us build our fluency and comprehension, we partner read a story in our decodable readers. We then read The Red Hat, a story about a firefighter and the many jobs she does. After reading that story we completed pages in our close reading companion. Finally, we reviewed nouns; we practiced finding them in sentences.
In Math class today we reviewed subtraction. We remember that subtraction means take away. We practiced solving several subtraction problems.
Tomorrow will be quite an exciting day in first grade; it is the return of gym class. Remember your sneakers!
