Happy 100th Day of School!

Greetings! It's hard to believe, but today was the 100th Day of School! Just where has the year gone? These days have been filled with fun, learning, hard work, and dedication. So, today was a day to celebrate all of that!

We began our day by going to Adoration. We spent some quiet time with Jesus praying for those who need prayers and by asking Jesus to help us have a good day. We also thanked Jesus for these first 100 days of first grade.

Then, it was time to celebrate. The students were treated to a special Music class and had their scheduled Computer and Guidance classes. In between all of them, we did four fun activities.

First, the students were divided into groups. Each group was given 100 objects and asked to work together to make a design. The students were quite creative with them. Here are two of the designs.

Next, the students worked on completing giant posters. To do this, they had to pretend that they are 100 years old. They then drew how they would get around, their favorite place, their favorite food, what their house would look like, and their favorite invention. They just loved coloring the posters.

After that, the students went on a scavenger hunt. I hid 100 hearts in the classroom. The students had to find a heart, tell me the number, and place it on the giant poster. You could hear the excitement from rooms away.

Finally, each student was given the digits 1-0-0 and asked to create a design using them. Students made butterflies, faces, tractors, and trains. I just loved seeing their creativity.

As you can tell, it was a fun day in first grade. Here's to the next 100 days!
