The End of Catholic School's Week!

Greetings! Today marked the end of our Catholic School Week celebration. It was a day filled with fun and learning!

We began our day in church. Many family members were able to join us for Mass. Today Msgr. Lockard reminded us that we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus. Here Jesus is first revealed as the light of the world which is why we blessed candles at Mass. After Mass, we had our throats blessed as Saturday is the feast of St. Blaise.

We wrapped up another week of learning in Language Arts today. We used our oral vocabulary words in sentences, and we read long a: ai, ay words. Next we practiced putting words in ABC order. After that we wrote sentences using our sight words. We wrapped up class by taking our test and using was and were in sentences.

In Science class today we began our health unit. Today we talked about the importance of eating healthy foods especially when it comes to our teeth.

We were able to squeeze in Art today. We read the story The Biggest Valentine Ever and then created the mouse valentine found in the story using hearts. We have to add a few details before the project is finished though. I'll post pictures on Monday.

We had to end Art class early because of the much anticipated volleyball game between the 8th grade and some of the teachers. We waited all week for this and were not disappointed. Despite their best efforts, the 8th grade was defeated by the teachers. It was a great game played by all.

Enjoy your weekend!
