Greetings! Happy Wednesday! It is just unbelievable that winter just won't go away. Maybe this is the last of the cold days for awhile.
In Religion class today, we talked about how when Jesus rose from the dead, he rose body and soul. We then talked about how one day when we die, we, too, will one day rise body and soul.
We continued our week of learning in Language Arts today, We practiced our oral vocabulary words, read words with vowel variant /a/ and words with vowel team syllables. We also practiced reading our sight words and vocabulary words. To expand our vocabulary skills, we talked about antonyms today. We created an 'antonym' picnic where we wrote examples. I was quite impressed with the examples the children came up with.
To help build our fluency and comprehension skills, we partner read a story from our decodable reader booklets. We also read Meet Rosina, a nonfiction story about a girl who is deaf. After reading the story, we completed pages in our close reading companion.
This afternoon in Language Arts, we practiced using possessive pronouns in sentences. We also wrote about what we like to do on a rainy day. We are in the process of finishing our writing project.
In Math class, we practiced solving addition and subtraction problems with and without regrouping. Today, we completed a write the room activity where students walked around the room, copied problems, and then solved them. They loved this and did great solving the problems.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is a Remote Learning Day! See you on Friday!
