Greetings! Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great day! We had lots of fun shopping at the Book Fair. We are quite excited to read the new books we got.
In Religion class today we talked about how Jesus won back the gift of grace for us by dying and rising to new life.
In Language Arts class, we practiced the oral vocabulary words we learned yesterday by answering questions using the words. Next, we used our letter tiles to spell and read words with the vowel variant /a/ spelled a, al, au, augh, and aw. Then, we learned how to read vowel team syllable words, words like drawing and rainbow. After that, we practiced using our sight words and vocabulary words in sentences. We ended our morning focused on comprehension; this week we are focusing on author's purpose. We reread All Kinds of Helpers and our decodable reader. After each story we wrote about the author's purpose.
This afternoon in Language Arts, we practiced using possessive pronouns in sentences. We also wrote another persuasive paragraph; we wrote about why we like our favorite place.
In Math class, we practiced solving subtraction problems with and without regrouping. I am so pleased at how well the students know what to do and how well they can explain their thinking.
In Spanish class, we reviewed the words we learned associated with various clothing items.
Have a great night!
