Egg-tastic Day!

Greetings! Today was such a great day in school. I had so much fun working with the students today and watching them have fun while practicing learning. I was sad to see the day end.

In Religion class today, we focused on the events of Holy Thursday. We reviewed what happened during the Last Supper and talked about what happened before the meal. We learned that Jesus washed his Apostles' feet as a call for us to serve. To help us remember that we should help others, we made a moveable hand washing a foot.

We began Language Arts class by talking about theme. We read A Bad Case of Stripes and discussed what we learned from the story. We then wrote about the theme and clues that helped us. Then, it was time for Easter fun. The students worked in pairs to complete various literacy centers. They had to unscramble sight words, determine the number of syllables in words, sort words based on whether they named a noun, verb, or adjective, build compound words, and solve math facts. We had so much fun in the centers that we ran out of time!

In Math class today, we added with regrouping. Again, the students are doing great solving these problems.

For Living Stations today, we watched The Proud Tree, a story about a boastful tree who becomes the tree on which Jesus dies. The tree has a change of heart and becomes humble.

This afternoon in Language Arts, we participated in our Easter show and tell. The students had fun reading their clues and guessing at what was in each egg. Thank you for your help with this. Finally, we wrote about where we would hide Easter eggs so that no one would find them.

We ended our day with Spanish. Today we learned the Spanish names for hat, pants, shirt, dress, socks, and shoes.

Have a wonderful night!
