Fossil Fun!

Happy Friday! I hope you had a good week. This week was full of excitement and tons of learning in first grade.

We began our day with Mass. The students were singing so beautifully today. It was something special to hear.

In Language Arts class, we wrapped up our story. We reviewed our sight words, long o: oa, and three letter blends. We then took a test on our story. Next, we reviewed adjectives for size by locating them in sentences.

This week we have been learning all about fossils and dinosaurs in Language Arts. To wrap up everything, we made fossils using clay. Students pressed a seashell into a piece of clay. I will be baking the clay over the weekend so that this fossil can be a treasure for years to come.

During Math class, we practiced solving a problem by making an organized list. In Science class, we studied the different things that give off heat. Some of the things we identified include ovens, lamps, fire, and the sun.

Finally, it was time for Art class. We made Easter eggs using marshmallows. I'll post pictures of them on Monday.

Have a great weekend!
