Today was another great day in first grade. We are finally back into a routine and loving it. There is so much learning happening in first grade.
Today in Religion class we wrapped up our study about Baptism. We reviewed what happens during a Baptism including what is said and what is received.
During Language Arts class today, we blended and read three letter blend words. The students found these words quite easy since we are used to reading two letter blends. We also practiced our sight words before working in our literacy centers. Finally, we reviewed adjectives for size by locating them in phrases and then using them in sentences.
Our story this week is centered around dinosaurs and fossils. As a little extension activity, we learned about how fossils are formed. This will aid us when we read the story tomorrow.
In Math class today, we used rulers to measure line segments to the nearest inch. We also used them to draw line segments of various lengths.
Just a reminder that because of Stations tomorrow we will not have gym class.
