A Be-Witching Day!

Greetings! Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a fantastic week. I don't know about you but this week just flew by.

We began our day with Religion class. Today we wrapped up our chapter on the Holy Family. We also finished praying the Luminous Mysteries. Next week we will pray the Sorrowful Mysteries.

We wrapped up another week of learning in Language Arts. Today we used our oral vocabulary words in sentences, read r-blend and s-blend words, practiced using possessives in sentences, and wrote sentences using our sight words. We then put our skills to work as we partner read a story in our decodable reader and our story from yesterday. We also talked about diagrams and completed a page in our close reading companion. We ended class by taking our weekly assessment.

This morning we had a fire drill with our local fire departments. They watched us as we left the building and then talked to us about fire safety. They want all of us to test our smoke alarms and have a practice drill at home. Needless to say, the firemen were a hit with the students today!

In Math class today we took a test on the addition facts to 10. Now it is off to subtraction facts next week.

In Science class we talked about how parents take care of baby animals. We said that they protect them, feed them, and clean them.

Then, after working hard all day, it was time for Art class. Today we made Halloween witches. They are so cute. I can't wait to put them in the hall for all to see. Here is a picture:

And, I don't know what happened but the week just got away from me. Here is the picture of the monster's from last week's project:

Have a great weekend!
