Bodies in Motion!

Greetings! Happy Thursday! I hope everyone had a terrific day!

We began our day with Religion class. Today we talked about how the Holy Family showed their love to God by obeying his rules, helping others, and praying. We said that we show our love to God when we do the same things.

Language Arts was one busy class today. We began by reviewing our oral vocabulary words. Next, we read r-blend and s-blend words. After that we worked with possessives. We know that they show ownership. We worked on using possessive phrases in sentences. Following that we practiced our sight words. Then our focus switched to building our fluency and comprehension. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets. Then we read Move It, a nonfiction story about how we use our bodies to move. After reading that story we completed pages in our close reading companion to build our comprehension skills. Finally, we wrote sentences remembering our capital letters and punctuation marks.

We ended our morning by celebrating firefighters. We wrote about the equipment they use, gear they wear, and how brave they are. We are quite excited to see the firefighters tomorrow.

In Math class today we reviewed addition facts to 10. The students did a great job at writing addition sentences and solving them.

In Social Studies class, we talked about how leaders make rules to keep us safe.

We ended our day by attending the Living Rosary. Our Junior High students led us as we prayed the Sorrowful Mysteries.

Just a reminder that we have Library tomorrow!
