Greetings! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
In Religion class today, we looked at the story of Jesus healing the blind man. We talked about how the blind man's faith healed him. We also talked about how we can grow our faith by praying to God.
We began a new week of learning in Language Arts today; this week we will be reading about things we see in the sky. We began by learning our new oral vocabulary words (observe, vast, certain, remained, and thoughtful). After that we worked on making predictions as we read a folktale about why the sun and moon are in the sky. Following that we learned how to blend and read r-controlled -er, -ir, -ur, and -or words. Next, we learned our new sight words and vocabulary words. We ended the morning by putting everything together as we read A Bird Named Fern.
This afternoon in Language Arts we talked about adjectives. We learned that adjectives are describing words for nouns. To help us understand adjectives, we wrote a list to describe an apple; our list was aided by the fact that we got to eat an apple slice.
In Math class today, we continued to practice subtraction with regrouping. The key for us is to remember to subtract the ones and tens.
Have a great night!
