Greetings! Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a great day!
In Religion class today, we read the story of Jesus calming the stormy sea. We talked about how his disciples grew to trust Jesus and believe that he is the Son of God. We then created a little poster to remind us to trust in Jesus.
We continued with our week of learning in Language Arts. We reviewed our oral vocabulary words, read long e words and compounds words, and our sight words. We played our safe cracker game which helped us to practice using our vocabulary words in sentences. To help us build our fluency and comprehension, we partner read a story from our decodable readers. We also read Koko and Penny. After reading this story, we completed pages in our close reading companion that focused on sequencing the skills Koko learned. We ended the morning by practicing using adverbs that tell when in sentences.
In Math class today, we learned how to add with regrouping. We learned that when the ones' sum is more than 10, I need to regroup 10 ones for a ten. We are slowly getting used to regrouping and will practice more tomorrow.
We ended our day with some Dr. Seuss Wacky Wednesday fun. We read Wacky Wednesday. Then, the students taped a paper under their desks and drew a wacky picture. The excitement of doing this could be heard down the hall.
Have a great night!
