Greetings! Happy Thursday! Happy (early) St. Patrick's Day! The students talked all day about setting traps for the leprechaun. I would love to see any pictures of the traps (and a leprechaun if they are successful).
In Religion today, we watched a video about St. Patrick. We talked about how he never lost his faith in Jesus and how he taught others to have faith too.
We continued with our learning in Language Arts. We reviewed our oral vocabulary words, read r-controlled words, words with the inflectional ending -er, and our sight words. We practiced using our vocabulary words in sentences. We then read Kitten's First Full Moon. After reading the story, we wrote cause and effect examples from it.
In Math class today, we practiced solving word problems. We are applying what we learned about adding and subtracting with and without regrouping to help us solve the problems.
We ended our day with some St. Patrick Day fun. We estimated how many pennies we thought it would take to sink a pot of gold. It took 54 pennies! We then created a rainbow using vinegar and food coloring. Then, we added baking soda to the vinegar and watched the rainbow erupt.
Have a great weekend! See you on Monday! ☘
