Cloud Fun!

Greetings! Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a nice day to end the week.

At Mass this morning we gathered with our Faith Families to worship Jesus. Fr. Brian reminded us about the importance of Good Friday.

In Language Arts, we practiced using adjectives that compare in sentences. We also practiced identifying r-controlled -or words. We generate a list or -or words, picked our six favorite words, and wrote them on popcorn kernels. We then created a bucket of popcorn words. Here is a picture.

This afternoon in Language Arts, we wrote our very first paragraph. We wrote about why we love recess. The students were so proud to have written a paragraph.

In Math class today, we took our chapter test on adding and subtracting with and without regrouping. Next week, we will begin our chapter on measurement.

In Science class, we began our unit on the sky. Today we talked about what we see in the day sky. We then focused on the clouds. We learned that there are three types of clouds: cirrus, cumulus, and stratus. We used cotton balls to show what each cloud looks like:

We ended our day with Art class. We painted stripes to make the background and then added a rabbit to it. They look so nice. I can't wait to hang them in the room!

Have a great weekend!
