Science Fun Times Two!

Greetings! I hope everyone is doing well and made it home safely yesterday. I have to say that I have not missed the winter weather.

At Mass yesterday, Fr. Brian talked to us about not holding grudges and about forgiving others.

In Language Arts, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words by using them in sentences. We also wrote sentences using our sight words. In addition, we partner read a story from our decodable reader booklets.

Since we ran out of time on Thursday, we had our Social Studies lesson on Friday. We talked about the difference between city, town, and country. We sorted what we would find in each place.

After lunch, the St. Francis ROCK program came and talked to us about density. The students worked in groups to make their own density tubes.

After that we returned to our classroom for Math class. Today we practiced adding with and without regrouping. We need to be sure that we don't get into the habit of always regrouping.

In Science class, we talked about shadows. We learned that shadows are made when something blocks the light. Using our flashlights, we went around the room and made shadows. We observed what the shadows looked like when the light is far away and when it is close.

We ended our day with Art. Today, we made a rainbow coming out of a pot of gold. We even added glitter to our gold coins.

I will post pictures from this week on Monday. I forgot my camera today 😞

Have a great weekend!
