Greetings! Today was truly a blessing-filled day. I feel so blessed so be part of such a wonderful school community. The students today were such a joy. They worked hard, laughed, and helped when needed. Their genuine kindness is such a blessing.
For Religion class today we went to Adoration. We spent quiet time with Jesus asking him to help us and those who need our prayers.
In Language Arts class, we answered questions using our oral vocabulary words. We then used our letter tiles to spell and read r-controlled -or words. Next we learned about abbreviations; our focus is to be able to write abbreviations for names, days of the week, and months of the year. After that we practiced using our sight words and vocabulary words in sentences. Then it was time to work on our fluency and comprehension. We reread our story from yesterday and wrote about the problem in the story, the steps taken to solve the problem, and the final solution. Then we read our decodable reader. We ended class by using adjectives that compare in sentences.
Our focus in Math class today was measurement. We learned what it means to measure in feet. First, to gain a better understanding on why we used rulers, each student walked heel-to-toe across the room counting their steps. We discovered that each measurement was different. That led us to talk about how a ruler equals one foot. We then used our rulers to measure the width of the room, which is 21 1/2 feet long.
We ended our day by praying the Stations of the Cross.
Have a happy night!
