Greetings! Happy Wednesday! Today was another great day of learning in first grade!
In Religion class today we wrapped up our chapter on sharing Jesus' light with others. We said that when we are kind, share, and help others we are spreading Jesus' light into the world.
In Language Arts class, we practiced using our oral vocabulary words in sentences; we also practiced reading r-controlled -or words and abbreviations. After reviewing our sight words and vocabulary words, it was time to read. We partner read a decodable reader story in our booklets, we read Thomas Edison, Inventor where we learned all about Thomas Edison. We especially loved reading about the experiments he did as a child. This afternoon we practiced using adjectives that compare in sentences. Finally, we worked in our literacy centers.
We continued to practice our adding 9 facts today. After reviewing the answers, we used our wrap-ups to help us learn these new facts.
Tomorrow will be an exciting day as it is Gym day! Thank you to everyone who came to our Family Literacy Night Event tonight! We enjoyed having you at our campsite.
