Beginning Subtraction!

Greetings! Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

In Religion class today we talked about how Jesus is the Light of the World. We said that just like light helps us, Jesus is always there to help us.

In Language Arts, we answered questions using our oral vocabulary words. We then used our letter tiles to spell and read r-controlled -or, -ore, and -oar words. Following that, we learned about abbreviations. We looked at abbreviations for titles, places, months, and days. After that we practiced using our sight words and vocabulary words in sentences. Finally, we worked on our comprehension skills. This week we are focusing on problem and solution. So, we reread our story from yesterday and our decodable reader and talked about the problems in each story and how each one was solved.

This afternoon in Language Arts, we focused on adjectives that compare. We practiced using them in sentences. We also illustrated examples to show something big, bigger, and biggest.

In Math class today, we began to learn how to subtract without regrouping. Today we used our base ten blocks to help us solve the problems. Tomorrow we will transition to paper and pencil.

Have a great night!
