Greetings on this absolutely early spring day. I know we will get another cold spell this winter season, but today just felt so good outside. We are trending in the right direction.
For Religion today, we went to church for Adoration. We spent some quiet time talking and listening to Jesus.
We began Language Arts by answering questions using our oral vocabulary words. Next, we used our letter tiles to spell and read r-controlled er, ir, ur, and or words. After that, we practiced reading and defining words with the inflectional ending -er, words like teacher and reader. Then, we practiced using our sight words and vocabulary words in sentences. Finally, we focused on comprehension. This week we are focusing on cause and effect. We reread our story from yesterday and our decodable reader and found cause and effect examples in each one.
This afternoon we focused on adjectives. We practiced using adjectives in sentences. We even wrote sentences using numbers as adjectives.
In Math class today, we learned how to add with regrouping. We used our base ten blocks to explore this concept. We showed each of the numbers we were adding. Then, if we had more than 10 ones, we would regroup them for a ten stick. Tomorrow we will learn how to do this on paper.
Have a great night!
