Learning the Stations of the Cross

Greetings! I hope everyone had a great day and got to enjoy the beautiful weather today. It was really hard to come inside from recess today.

In Religion class we started to learn the Stations of the Cross. We focused on the first seven stations. To help us learn about the Stations, we watched a Brother Francis video on them. After learning about the first seven stations, we colored pictures for each one.

In Language Arts, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words, read r-controlled er, ir, ur, and or words and words with the inflectional ending er. We also practiced our sight words and vocabulary words. Following that we partner read a story in our decodable reader. We then read Kitten's First Full Moon. After reading the story we completed pages in our close reading companion that focused on cause and effect examples from the story. We ended our morning focusing on adjectives. We wrote sentences using color and size words and adjectives. We also practiced finding them in sentences.

In Math class today we learned how to add with regrouping. We know to begin by adding the ones. We just need to remember to count our regrouped ten when we add the tens.

In Spanish class today we learned the Spanish names for cheese, milk, juice, chicken, potato, and salad.

We ended our day by going to Stations of the Cross.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is a jean day! Have a great night!
