Easter Writing Fun!

Greetings! Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is doing well and are having a great week!

In Religion class today we talked about how we make choices and how those choices should be good choices. When we are not sure what to do, we need to ask ourselves 'What Would Jesus Do?' He will guide us in making the loving choice.

In Language Arts, we reviewed our oral vocabulary, read words with the diphthongs ou and ow, spelled and read words with the inflectional endings -er and -est, and practiced our sight words and vocabulary words. Then we switched our focus to fluency and comprehension. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets. We also read Whistle for Willie. After reading this story, we wrote about its problem and the solution. Finally, we practiced using a, an, that, and this in sentences.

In Math class today we continued to practice subtraction. Today, we mixed the problems. Some required regrouping and some did not. The students are very good at knowing when to regroup or not.

In Spanish class today we learned the Spanish names for orange (naranja), soup (sopa), water (agua), meat (carne), apple (manzana), banana (platano), and sandwich (sandwich).

We ended our day with an Easter writing project. We read The Easter Egg by Jan Brett. We talked about how each Easter egg was unique and special in its own way. Then using paint, the students decorated an egg. After that we wrote about why our egg is incredible. I'll post pictures tomorrow once everything has dried.

Have a great night!
