Flashlight Fun!

Greetings! I hope everyone had a great day to end their week. We had a great day to end ours.

In Religion class, we wrapped up our chapter on Baptism. We reviewed what happens during Baptism and what is said.

We wrapped up another week of learning in Language Arts. We used our oral vocabulary words in sentences, read r-controlled -ar words, wrote the irregular plurals for words, and wrote sentences using our sight words. We also took our weekly assessment.

This week we have been talking like a pirate in Language Arts. So, today, we made a pirate holding a treasure chest. And, on that chest we wrote r-controlled -ar words on the pieces of gold. Have a look:

Today, we wrapped up our week long celebration of Read Across America Week. We read Yertle the Turtle. After reading we all agreed that Yertle was not a good king. The students wrote why he was not. We added our writing to a craft.

In Math class we continued to practice addition without regrouping. Today, we solved problems on our whiteboards. We are slowly getting the hang of it.

Science class was a blast. Today we talked about light. We identified things that give off light. We also talked about how a shadow is made when something blocks the light. Using our flashlights, we created shadows all over the room. Thank you for sending in the flashlights!

We ended our day with Art. Today, we made a leprechaun using a paper plate and tissue paper. I'll post pictures next week once everything has dried.

As promised, here are pictures from the week. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!
