Lucky Duckies!

Greetings! Happy Thursday! It is hard to believe that it is already Thursday. This week is flying by!

In Religion today we finished looking at the sacrament of Baptism. We learned that we wore white as a reminder that we are a follower of Christ. We also talked about how we received a candle when we were baptized as a symbol to always walk in the light of Christ.

In Language Arts, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words, read r-controlled -ar words, wrote irregular plural words, and read our word wall. Then we worked on our fluency. We partner read a story in our decodable reader booklets along with the Frog and Toad story from today. Finally, we reviewed conjunctions (and, but, or, so, because).

For our Dr. Seuss activity today we read Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are. Afterwards, we talked about what makes us lucky. We then wrote about why we are lucky duckies. I just loved seeing how the students said that they are lucky duckies because of family, friends, and love.

In Math class today, we began a new chapter. This chapter will focus on adding and subtracting with and without regrouping. Today, using base ten blocks, we learned how to add without regrouping. Tomorrow, we will pick up our pencils to solve problems.

In Social Studies today, we learned the names of the two countries that border the United States. We labeled a map to show Canada and Mexico.

Finally, it was time for Gym. The students had tons of fun dancing and exercising to GoNoodle.

Have a great night!
