Coloring Our World!

Greetings on this colorful day! It was so nice to see the students all in their different color shirts today. Thank you for helping them see the importance in saying no to drugs. This afternoon, the whole school went outside and spelled out "Drug Free!" on the parking lot as a reminder that we can color our world by being drug free.

Today in Religion class we learned the Great Commandment which is to love God, love others, and love ourselves. We also spent time talking about how to love God. To help us remember the Great Commandment, we created giant hearts. Here they are:

In Language Arts class, we reviewed our oral vocabulary words, spelled and read words with end blends and inflectional endings, and played a game with our sight words. We also partner read a story in our decodable reader booklet as well as our story from yesterday At a Pond. We ended class by reading a poem and completing pages in our close reading companion to help us build comprehension when reading poetry.

In Math class today we again solved subtraction word problems. I am amazed at how fast they can solve them using so many techniques.

We ended our day with Social Studies. Today we reviewed everything we have learned this year in class about our community. Next week, we will begin our study of geography.

Tomorrow is Friday. It is a Faith Family Mass day. The students are to wear their Christ is RICH in me shirts to school. Don't forget your library book!

Have a great night!
