Not So Scary Art!

Greetings! Happy Friday! Today was such a fantastic day in first grade. I just really enjoyed working with the students today. They are such a great group of kids.

We began our day with Mass. Today, Fr. Brian talked to us about St. Francis. He reminded us to be humble like him. After Mass we prayed the fifth decade of the Joyful Mysteries. Next week we will pray the Luminous Mysteries.

We wrapped up another week of learning in Language Arts today. We used our oral vocabulary words in sentences, read words with r-blends and s-blends, finished possessive phrases, and wrote sentences using our sight words. After lunch we took our weekly assessment.

In Math class today we used our critical thinking skills to solve problems. Their math knowledge impresses me so much.

In Science class we talked about how parents care for their young. We illustrated a picture of an adult animal taking care of its baby.

Finally, it was time for Art. Today our focused switched to Halloween art. We made not so scary Frankensteins. Aren't they cute? I can't wait to hang them in the hall!

Have a great weekend!
