Greetings! Happy Monday! It was different to see the rain today. We have been so use to seeing the sunshine; it was different to see the gray skies.
We began our day with Religion class. Today we talked about how Jesus grew up in Nazareth with Mary and Joseph and how they showed their love for God. We also prayed the first decade of the Luminous Mysteries.
We began Language Arts class by working in our literacy centers. Then we jumped into our week of learning. We learned two new oral vocabulary words (community and occupation). We then worked on making predictions as we read Millie Waits for the Mail. Following that we learned how to blend and read short e words. After that we learned our five new sight words for the week. We finished the morning by reading the realistic fiction story Good Job, Ben!
This afternoon in Language Arts we learned about nouns. We listed the various people, places, things, and animals we see in our community. Then each student took a noun, illustrated it, and added it to our Noun Town. Here it is:
This week in Penmanship we will practice writing the letter O.
In Math class we reviewed addition. Tomorrow we will take our test.
Finally, this week is Fire Safety Week. We will be spending time this week reviewing fire safety rules. Today we reviewed what to do when our clothes catch on fire. We know to stop, drop, and roll.
Have a great night!
