Pumpkin Fun!

Greetings! Happy Wednesday! Today was a great day! We worked hard this morning and celebrated this afternoon.

In Religion class today, we wrapped up our chapter on the Great Commandment. We reviewed what it was and how we can love God, ourselves, and others.

In Language Arts class, we reread Thump Thump Helps Out and identified the characters, setting, and events in the story. After talking about them, we wrote them in a graphic organizer. We then read our decodable reader and discussed those same literary elements in them.

In Math class today we examined a number sentence to see if it was true or false. We used linking cubes to help us to do that.

For Gym class today, we went outside to the playground. I enjoyed watching a group of students trying to catch leaves as they fell from the tree. They had so much fun doing that.

After Gym, Mrs. McMullen came to read to us two Halloween stories. She also gave the students masks to wear as she read. Needless to say, they loved them.

Then it was time to carve a pumpkin. We took turns pulling out the seeds. We then worked together to determine what the eyes, nose, and mouth should look like. After a few minutes of waiting we had our pumpkin just in time for our Halloween party tomorrow. We ended our day by writing the steps in the process of carving a pumpkin.

Tomorrow is our Halloween party. Please don't forget your costume. Also, tomorrow is a jean day!
